If you feel flustered with your social networking skills don't be too hard on yourself. This is a new genre for almost all of us too.
In order to help you get up to speed with all this web 2.0 stuff I have a couple free resources I'd like to give you right now.
First thing I suggest you do is read this forum post. I have detailed some great tips on how to build a thriving opt-in list here at Sta.rtup.biz:
