Here I am again, thinking about what I will do to keep myself active after my “second” retirement. Well, after a year of thinking, and researching, I think I have found the solution for the next phase of my life, in addition to “grand mothering” to Sydney and James Allen and church related ministries.

I have decided to start a home-based business. One of the criteria that I used in making my decision is that beyond making some extra income, it must be something that will make a difference for others, especially for children. Since over 40 years of my life has been in the field of education, why not continue in that venue.

The focus of the business will be helping parents to choose appropriate toys to develop or strengthen pre-academic and academic skills and make learning fun. As an educational consultant for Discovery Toys I will share information that I have learned about how toys can be used to develop and strengthen readiness skills, as well as introduce toys that are designed and carefully selected to match a child’s stages of readiness.
