Who is Gail and why is she here. . .
Hi, I'm Gail. I'm a mom of 4, a community volunteer and I own my own business. I'm a CPR and First Aid Instructor. I teach courses that meet American Heart Association Guidelines and are OSHA approved. I provide a mix of private in-home or corporate classes, community classes and courses for Healthcare Providers. I believe that everyone has the ability to make a difference when someone else is ill or injured. I also believe that our community is what we put into it. I volunteer on several town boards, in my children's school, in community organizations and represent my community on a regional commission. And, no - I don't have a lot of free time!
Why am I on this site? I'm here to network, learn and share. I previously worked full-time before starting my business and was involved in networking, HR and management. So I'm hoping I have some things to share just as much as I am sure I'll learn from some of the members here.
If you're visiting my page I ask that you please do not spam me or post lengthy comments on why I should join your business or how you can promote my product. I'm not a product person, I provide a service, instruction actually. I provide this locally and thus I'm not interested in banner ads on your site that is nowhere near me geographically. All that tells me is that you didn't read my page and you really aren't interested in how we can network and help each other's businesses. You just want me to buy something from you, and that is not why I'm here.
It is nice to see I have friends here from other networking sites and I look forward to growing more networking relationships!

New to Sta.rtup.biz
So I'm new to this site, and in general new to online networking. To be honest its like a bike ride down a road I would normally drive the car on. I'm used to the road, but on the slower pace of my bike (especially on hills!) you can see the scenery and detail so much more clearly. Have you ever had a business meeting at fine restaurant? Have you ever been involved in social gathering that involved food, wine and cocktails? I would venture to say you have enjoyed such an experience.

Best thing you can do is just dive in and start communicating with others.
If you would like a little help in getting started with your marketing here I suggest you check out the following two discussion threads How to Avoid Being Called A Spammer On A Social Network and 5 Cardinal Rules to Growing Your Business on Sta.rtup.biz and follow the tips I share on them. Make sure to post any questions you may as well!
I have only been a member here for a few months now but I can honestly say this is an absolutely awesome place in which you can grow your business.
In fact in the little bit of time I have been here since starting in August I have received 84,236 (and growing!) unique visitors to my website with a whopping 346,624 page views! I want to say that even though there are just 28,000+ members here there is a lot more traffic rolling through here that never take the time to register as a member.
