I read another one in the papers about an expat. Aussie who was a journalist in Thailand.
Her Thai friend wanted to come and work in Australia. Here Thai nickname was "Nong" and in Australian slang, that means a "a dill" or "a twit" , but not in a too a way. So the Aussie journalist gently suggested that she may want to pick another name for her time in Australia. So the Thai girl says: Oh that's all right , my full name is Ning Nong. The full slang term of nong is precisely that! ie, ning nong!

Loved your answers to the questions my tourists. I had a really good chuckle!
I have one about how they were trying to teach Indians (as in those who live in India) local Australian sayings so that they could better relate to Australian clients who phone call centers and end up talking to some one in India.
One suggestion was about the weather and if it is very dry, the response by the call center person coulld be; "Yeah mate, its real dry here at the moment, as dry as a dead dingo's dong" I will leave it to your imagination as to what the word "dong" refers to!

These were posted on an Australian Tourism Website and the answers are the actual responses by the website officials, who obviously have a sense of humour.

Hello George! Glad to see you plugging in here at Sta.rtup.biz!!

I have only been a member here for a couple months now but I can honestly say this is an absolutely awesome place in which you can grow your business.

In fact in the little bit of time I have been here I have received 45,900 (and growing!) unique visitors to my website with a whopping 190,973 page views! I want to say that even though there are just 11,000+ members here there is a lot more traffic rolling through here that never take the time to register as a member. That traffic will hit your website too if you interact effectively with enough people.

The main thing I personally do is jump in and put consistent activity in here at Sta.rtup.biz to grow my own network. Remember that wallflowers usually build very feeble networks.

If you feel any apprehension about your ability to market yourself properly on the Internet make sure to come by my page and chat with me a bit. I would be more than willing to help get you acquainted with some of the going-ons here! Plus I share close to a couple hundred blog posts you may find interesting as well as helpful.

Just don't give up building your network until you have given it your absolute all!

Matt LaClear

Hi, my name is George Artz and I live in Lismore, Australia. Where the hell is Lismore? you may well ask!
Well, it is near Brisbane (assuming you know where Brisbane is!) about 200 kilometers south and about 900 kilometers north of Sydney. It is in a subtropical rainforest area. Well it used to be until white settlement, 200 years ago when they chopped most of it down. There are now only some protected remnants, but still very beautiful.
Pacific ocean beaches are about a 40 minute drive away.
