His professional career as a Mixologist began long ago in the mid-70’s in a place called the “Valley”, located in the Northeast section of the “Boogie Down” Bronx. At the age of 15, The Stardust Ballroom became his 1st “home” ever, and it was ‘off to the races’ from then on. Doing shows with groups like BLUE MAGIC, THE DELFONICS,CHIC, HAROLD MELVIN AND THE BLUE NOTES, GQ, UNLIMITED TOUCH, MELBA MOORE, DOUBLE EXPOSURE, JOCELYN BROWN, FIRST CHOICE,GM FLASH AND THE FURIOUS FIVE, LOVE BUG STARSKI, DJ HOLLYWOOD, MARY J. BLIGE, DJ AJ, PETE DJ JONES, and many more, were routine in a pre-hiphop era that truely exposed the best and separated them from the rest. It would be unforgiving of me not to mention his WESTCHESTER COUNTY FAMILY;formerly known as THE PALACE, 518 Main St. was definately the place to be. It was Johnny G’s home for All of the 80’s and Early 90’s. Prior to acquiring his Bachelors Degree and 1st Class F.C.C. License, he, along with K.B.J., Timmy Hall, and Kool DJ Rock, formed the infamous “Come-Off-Crew”, holding UPTOWN down for much of the late 70’s and early 80’s, and were considerd to be one of N.Y.’s Finest when it came to rockin’ parties at virtually any Club in the city and beyond. Managing “Nite Clubs” has been much of his forte’ for the past 20 years or so, but he’s never lost the desire to create and mix music to the delight of everyone listening(including himself). It’s just something he likes to do. To keep it short, he’s back and HERE TO STAY!!! The mixing supremacy of the “One Turntable Rocker” from the Bronx is about to be heard again, loud and clear-cross-country. STAY TUNED. A 21 volume(44cd set) called “Johnny G’s Classic ‘Ol School Flava” is about to be made available to the public from the website listed below.
