Hi, I am a Freelance Translator and Conference Interpreter from Paris (France).

Language communication is my life support system.

I have been in this business for close to 30 years, my working languages are French (native) and English. I also understand, but don't speak anymore, Russian and Italian. Recently I learned Bengali in order to communicate with the boy I am sponsoring in Bangladesh.

I have two separate lines of business.
One is written Translation, and I translate mainly for publication: presales and marketing material, activity reports, etc. I translate mainly in two different sectors, one is Test and Measurement equipment, and the other is for international non-governmental organizations focused on child-centered community development.

My other line of business is Conference Interpreting. I have worked for a wide range of public and private, governmental and non governmental organizations, in many different areas. I do both Consecutive and Simultaneous interpreting. Simultaneous is supposed to be more difficult, but Consecutive is what makes our real reputation.

I work from home or at conference venues. I have worked in various European countries: France of course, UK, Switzerland, Luxembourg, Belgium, Netherlands, Sweden.

For 30 years, I have survived the pitfalls of working independently. I do not own a translation agency, and don't intend to do so. I don't work for agencies either, because I care for the direct and sincere relationship I have with my clients, the key to success in my opinion.

I am the person people come to talk to, and I keep all secrets to myself. Coincidentally, it's also a quality in a profession where confidentiality is a key word. I frequently get asked the way in places where I've never been before. Tourists come to me in Paris when they are lost. Younger colleagues approach me for advice and to tell me about their concerns. I listen and I try to help.
