What Not To Do If There's A Mosquito In Your Room!Do you know what 'blinders' are?
'Blinders' are like a mask that trainers fit to the eyes of race horses so they can only look straight ahead and not see from side to side.
When we are worried, upset, or stressed we often we get mental 'blinders' on and can't see any options other than one or two that are difficult or painful.
I met with a client recently, let's call him Greg, who was stressed and upset about his job.
He could not see any way out of his situation other than quitting his job, or staying and being unhappy and miserable.
I knew that Greg could benefit from having more options, so I did the Infinite Solutions tool with him.
What I asked him to do was to imagine that there was a hungry mosquito in the room whilst he was trying to sleep.
He had to come up with at least 20 possible responses, no matter how crazy.
GREGS CRAZY OPTIONS
One of his crazy options was to call ET and ask him to come down in his spaceship and zap the pesky mosquito!
That's fine, the options don't have to be realistic, as long as they are a new way of looking at an old situation!
Once he had finished, I checked to see if Greg had written an obvious option that almost everyone misses.
He got it.

When we applied the Infinite Solutions Tool to his work situation, Greg said that just by doing the exercise he felt a lot better.
