- Hi Patrick.... I tried Noni and felt no change. Some things work for some people and other things work for others when it comes to consumable products like ibuprofen or Noni or whatever product. Back pain is a huge problem. One thing that you have to agree with is that gravity is working against everybody as long as you are either sitting or standing. It’s called gravitational compression. Some people tolerate it better than others but eventually it will cause problems to your discs, spine and or muscles. It will most commonly affect the discs because they are the shock absorbers which contain approximately 70% water. Gravity and your body weight compress the discs causing water to be forced out of the discs especially the last one (L5) at the bottom of your spine. This is the area where most people have back problems with. Some people don't experience any back pain but their discs are continuing to lose water content every day. As the years go by they may or may not have any pain but the problem of their L5 disc losing water content continues to worsen. Eventually as they get older they start getting "stiffer" and blame it on their age. Hanging upside down is the best way to reverse the effects of gravity.
If Noni worked to take away the pain, that's great. But what caused the pain to begin with. Is it pulled muscles? Is it a sprain strain type of injury? Is it your spine and discs? Unfortunately, many people have the mentality, “if it’s not broke why fix it”. They are also the ones that believe they can eat, drink and be merry and …. I won’t have a heart attack.
Preventing problems to the spine is like preventing heart problems. There are certain things we can do to protect our hearts just like there are certain things we can do to prevent spinal problems. A short and simple one minute a day routine of hanging upside down along with avoid sitting for prolonged periods, when you do sit use a back support, lift with your legs and not your back muscles goes a long way to protect and prevent back problems. I must not forget that if weight is an issue it also means you have weak abdominal muscles and throws your posture off balance. Most patients that have a weight issue and back pain have told me that they know if they lost those thirty, forty or fifty pounds they would lose the back pain as well. The moral of this story, do you want to just get out of pain or do you want to prevent future back problems? I choose the latter and hope you do too.
