There is a saying that "the early bird gets the worm". Today hasn't been quite that good but getting up with the birds is occasionally necessary. Today's reward for leaving the house early was breakfast with a friend. He needed encouragement and I needed a breakfast buddy. We both learned something from our conversation topics. I was able to share how we came across a traveler on the I-5 this summer who needed what I could spare from my auto car care kit. It opened up a prospect opportunity.

My memories of winter and the snow has changed when I recall the last fifty or so winters.
There was a time when us kids on the farm had a ball sledding down snow drifts that covered some window of the chicken coop. It's roof was easily climbed from corner where a snow drift covered its corner. After a bit of ingenuity, a series of ramps and mogels kept us occupied until chore time or dark, whichever came first.

I'm not sure if others have as many coffee mugs as we have in our kitchen cupboard. When I have a cup of coffee it seems to be chore which one I should use. Every mug has connection with a memory so I won't be getting rid of any one of them just yet.
