SummaryI began career in biology at the University of Alberta in Edmonton. After graduating with a
B. Sc. Honours spent two fabulous summers in the Western Canadian Arctic exploring the effects of migration on the helminthofauna of Arctic Nesting geese. A few years at the University of Manitoba and the Delta Waterfowl Research Station working on pathological and immunological effects of stomach worms in mallard ducks earned a Doctorate in Zoology.
After teaching at Brandon University for three years while completing my thesis, I found there
were still no faculty positions at universities in which I was interested. That led me to work
with a private waterfowl and wetlands conservation organization- Ducks Unlimited Canada. I stayed there for 20 years and had a ball doing good things for conservation. I now do business planning and grant writing for research oriented organizations and am primarily a wellness consultant.
In the thick of my career as a conservation biologist I probably would not have given a different career, much less one in network marketing, a passing glance. Just too left
brained and focused on science. But timing is everything as I've heard and about the time I
was switching from employee to private consulting I was introduced to the MLM business
model. I soon found that consulting wasn't much different from employment except that I got to choose my clients. My time still was not my own and earnings were limited by the number of hours in a day. MLM offered time leverage so I looked at and tried a few companies but found they each had flaws. Either they offered products or services that could be had elsewhere, had troublesome administrative structures ("nickel and dimed" us to death) and
most importantly did not offer life changing benefits to customers/clients. And quite frankly I saw little real application among my upline of the philosophy that "my success depends on helping others be successful".
I found the right combination at SomaLife International and now concentrate on that. You
can see that at
www.thewellnesshomesgroup.com. It was actually the second company I got involved with and after looking at some others, and is the one for me. It has a tremendous corporate structure and philosophy, life changing patented products that cannot be found anywhere else and an Elite Platinum Business Advantage Layered Income Plan.
