Growing up Half-Japanese and Half-American
I was born in Tokyo between my Japanese mother and American father. I used to hate being different from my peers who were either 100% Japanese or 100% American.
After traveling the world, I realized that I wasn't so unique being from a mixed culture. Visiting Europe opened up my eyes as most of the people I met had an international background. I also realized that we are all unique in our own sense. And it is beautiful to be unique.
