Four months from today, the Vancouver & Whistler Winter Olympics begin – or the 19th Winter Olympiad. Whichever name you prefer probably means how you look at the ownership of the event: It either belongs to the Host City, or the International Olympic Committee that runs it. This statement has been the major argument point of the whole event. Whenever demonstrations have taken place against hosting the Winter Olympics, or ‘official’ statements from the IOC have been sent by winged-ankled mes… Continue

I received a call from Kris and Kelly Carter from One Live Concepts for help on a Short Sale over the weekend. They had bids on a clients home and it was set to go to sale by the bank on Monday. They called me on Sunday to see if there was anything they could do. A few tips from me and they were able to stop the bank from taking back the home and have a chance for a Short Sale.
You would be surprised how many times this ha… Continue

JOE: Good morning Calliope.
CALLIOPE: Good morning Joe. How are you this morning?
JOE: A little frustrated.
CALLIOPE: Not with your writing I hope.
JOE: No. My email program is acting up for some reason and refused to cooperate.

This is a blog written earlier in response to a discussion question on the Group Green on LinkedIn, "Is Man-Made Global Warming Real? - The Number of Skeptics is Swelling - Many Scientists Beg to Differ..."
For the last few days all I heard and read was how the Energy Bill is going to hurt the consumer and how it is going to cripple the US economy and the global economy by extension.
I am no environmentalist, but if we don't believe we are living on a distressed palnet and that global warming i… Continue

Here's five movies that you can use when times are tough and you want to get to the next level of lifestyle and not fall into the abyss.
"When a man stares into the abyss and sees nothing but darkness, this is the time that he finds his character. And it is his character, that keeps him from falling into the abyss."
These movies have helped to keep me out of the abyss.
Rocky 3
The "Eye of the Tiger" song and opening montage, will get you into the success mood. Rocky has… Continue

I believe way too much emphasis is placed on the "bad economy".
Sure things are down, but can worry change anything? Can telling everyone we meet, how bad the economy is and whether or not we are going to make it, change it one degree? The time we spend wringing our hands, and saying "woe is me", is wasted time and it produces a defeatist attitude.
Rid yourself of that.
Wake up with a smile on your face, and determination in your heart that nothing - absolutely NOTHING is going to hold you ba… Continue

I would like to share with you an amazing way to SAVE GAS and REDUCE EMISSIONS.... with H2O! I have been annoyed with the auto industry ever since I saw "Who Killed the Electric Car?" In the documentary, I learned that LA, California used to have an underground passenger rail system... that is until the auto industry purchased it and demolished it. Now LA is one of the most pollute
In California, as well as in other states, teachers are being laid off, state workers and healthcare workers are having their hours and pay cut or they are receiving pink slips, people are losing their health care, and they are in desperate need for income and security!
On June 6th, 2009, our area Newspaper, The VISALIA TIMES DELTA, reported:
With companies in no mood to hire, the federal UNEMPLOYMENT rate jumped to 9.4 percent in the month of May 2009. This is the highest in more than 25 year… Continue

Most economists are predicting that the economy will bottom out before the end of the year. How are you faring? Some industries have been hit harder than others, like real estate and automotive while some seem to be striving, like anything green. My question is—what have you learned from this downturn and what permanent changes you have made to cushion yourself in the future? ....moreContinue

While there are many "holiday sales" going on this weekend, have you actively searched out any Black owned biz to show your support by purchasing from them? I am going to purchase the quicklip leash cell phone accessory for my daughter at www.buyblacktoday.com/TeamDollar so she won't lose or drop her new phone. She made the A-B Honor roll all year for 9th grade, so I'm looking to purchase a MetroPCS phone from a Black franchise owner.

Perhaps Sir Winston Churchill said it best, “Success is the ability to go from one failure to another with no loss of enthusiasm.”
As you look around you, think about your friends, family and colleagues, are you seeing the enthusiasm and leadership it is going to take to thrive in this economy?
When things go bump in the economy, do you pull the covers over your head or grab the flashlight and seek answers?
I don’t know about you, but never in my life did improvement come from lack of action.… Continue

Hi, my name is Kelly Barr who doesn’t want the choice in who provides their home services the more options we have, the more competition there is, the less we pay for services?
Since deregulation has happened in many states we can now choose to buy our residential energy and other residential services cable and phone services from a different supplier in our areas. There are now new energy companies in Illinois, Texas and New York that offers lower rates. Shouldn't all states allow you to choo… Continue
