I just found out that here in New Jersey, with the exception of religious beliefs and allergies, it is now MANDATORY for any child entering the first grade to get a flu shot.
MANDATORY!!
If a child goes to school without having a flu shot, the school risks huge fines and the child risks expulsion from school. How can this be??? Isn't this America? How can a flu shot now be mandatory? For a child, no less.

Sunday, we had a guest pastor that spoke at our church. His name is Reverend Ted Johnson. I have to mention his name because he was quite impressive; his preaching style was very personable, practical and relevant. I have two children--two boys. They were both born in the late 80's--just in time to enjoy the release of the re-digitalized Star Wars Trilogy in the 90's.
When the original trilogy was released, I had no interest. None. But, OMG, my brothers were IN LOVE! It was a deep and abiding love--lol!
