Designer for Interface Use – Job W 1693

Location: Chicagoland

Keys:

•You will work with product management, product development, internal stakeholders and customer users to design innovative, industry leading products.

•Using product requirements, you will help drive the product design process from product/feature conceptualization through detailed user interface and functionality design, usability review and implementation.

•You will participate in all phases of the product development life cycle.


Skills:

•3+ years experience in a commercial software product company.

•BA/BS or advanced degree preferred in Human Factors, Human-Computer Interaction, or a related field or demonstrated comparable experience designing commercial software products.

•Demonstrated experience with both Windows and web-based products.

•Knowledge of User Interface Design principles, Human Factors, User-Centered Design Processes, Interaction Design guidelines, Usability Methodologies, industry standards and trends, platform standards, software development process, and prototyping/design.

•Ability to translate audience, technology and other key product requirements into effective UI design solutions.

•Experience in designing prototypes and writing design documents to effectively communicate functional behavior to stakeholders.

•Proficiency with using design tools such as Photoshop (or Paintshop Pro), Visio and UI Design.

•Preferred experience with MS Visio Studio, HTM and CSS

•Knowledge of web technologies such as application and web servers, .NET, etc.

•A mid-tier designer who is strong in taking requirements and interpreting them into design.

•Must have done end to end project design. Experience starting from scratch or redesign experience is highly desirable.
