Employee wellness programs a term that should be on the top of a companies start up list; however, it seems to be at the bottom or one of the final stages of growth; hey the paycheck is the reward, Companies that promote that type of mentality seemingly end up in more trouble that they can possibly handle. Employee wellness programs where are they? Do they exits and how many companies actually utilized programs geared towards employee wellness. Employee wellness is not just a physical thing dealing with health nutrition and productivity. Its the emotional stability of your employees that counts as well, the actual mind set of the worker. As warriors train there minds for the soul purpose of selfless service towards fellow mankind, taking pride in what ever job we may conduct, form cleanup to the executive office. No matter what the economic status in the world today, we cannot forget that we are all human and humans are not perfect life forms; Richard Strozzi Heckler 2003; Stated, Believing you are perfect is the fatal imperfection. Believing you are invulnerable is the ultimate vulnerability. Being a warrior doesn't mean winning or even succeeding. It means risking and failing and risking again, as long as you live. (p.311) Companies and business take risks on a daily basis investing, planning, and even losing. So is it a risk for a company to develop or contract employee wellness program?

That's business as it always has been; risking and it is my common belief that risking an investment into the welfare of companys employees is the best risk a company could take. When we start companies we say to ourselves were going to have the best company, make big money and be rich. Is there a company out there that states; were not just going to make a profitable corporation. Were going to produce, train, challenge and mold our employees with character, intelligence and camaraderie; the initial recipe for our Business Leaders of Tomorrow. In doing so, this type of mindset, is not merely for the increase of productivity that will come; this is for the enhancement of individual development, It is my belief that a company that honestly cares about there employees, will help them, to help them selves. Weather this is done threw a employee wellness program or threw the individual companies policies; still, one thing remains the same. Investment in your staffs personal welfare is the most sold and selfless investment a company can do for its employees. As we preach selfless service towards mankind to those that work for us and with us, to go forward giving that extra effort, in order to increase production, sales and generate profits; as they as employees are willing do so. What about the company selfless actions towards there employees? To go forward giving that extra effort, in order to increase moral welfare and state of well being. For a new company starting out some recommendations are to build your company and gear it towards an employee wellness program built into your initial training programs and recruiting incentives. If you want to attract the very best you have to sell yourself as the best provider and prove it not just by profits alone. Everyone wants to make money that is the necessity in the corporate world; however, how about selling the fact that your company not only pays, but provides for its employees wellness and welfare incorporated from the begging. As this is accomplished by providing the support for a healthy mind, body and spirit; how many well-off people do you personally know, that are unhealthy in all three category's; they have the ability to produce. Corporations that are looking to start an employee wellness program need consult, contract, or personally hire there own individuals, to conduct this type of motivational incentive. Motivational incentives can be critical for your company and if applied in the wrong manner may have devastating effects.



Health, Body, Mind, and Spirit



Unfortunately health body mind and sprit are not at the top list for the majority of companies out there, but if you stop to think about it its that very same concept that most successful corporations in the world utilize. The United Sates Armed forces; now its not to say that you create a military environment; lets face it, if that's what you want join then join Uncle Sam, the main point is they encourage intellect, form and fortitude, a concept of health from the beginning and really mean it. Employee wellness needs to cater to the theme of your company, not just what the boss thinks employees need. The theme of this encouragement will stay with your employee weather they stay with the company an move on; remember marketing is everyone and everything a employee moving on to bigger an better things even if its the completion should encouraged. It builds and strengthens your network in the long run.

Motivation

When it comes to employee motivation it is my belief that one of the areas that are seriously overlooked is the emotional stability of an individual employee. There are a number of times when the gossip train is focusing on that one single employee. And no one ever really stops to think well, maybe theirs a serious emotional problem that is occurring with that particular individual. Or perhaps it is thought of but pretty much once overlooked until something drastic occurs, everyone needs someone in the neutral corner to talk to; someone that is confidential and in unbiased manner, lets face it; not everyone has a spiritual adviser, nor do they want one. But to have company psychologist outside the human resources department dose and will not hurt, if company budget will allow it. After all this is employee wellness; investing in to the resources that invest into a corporation.
