First Week Wrap Up

I am enjoying my first day off since I opened, but also my first day of not going to the shop in about 3 weeks. It's a much needed day. Fortunately, I have a wonderful mother who is willing to work (for free) on days like this. Right now I'm not even paying myself, so I can't imagine having a real employee to pay.

Speaking of money. My first week ended better than it started and yesterday I opened a new business account at the bank across the street. I was able to deposit just $20 shy of my rent and that was after only 5 days of being open. That feels pretty good. I truly believe now that with an entire month, I will be able to break even and cover costs of replenishing supplies.

I have also met some wonderful residents of my new town. Everyone who comes in is so happy to have a shop there and tells me how much businesses are needed in town. I feel like I am giving back to the community in addition to getting to have my own shop. That is truly the best part of all of this.
