Advertising thru Safelists and Traffic Exchanges – does it work ???
SAFELISTS
Free Safelists and Paid Safelists are becoming a very popular way of advertising websites and programs via e-mail. Safelists are lists which contain email addresses of individuals which have agreed to receive email from the other members of the safelist. Some safelists contain thousands of members. So, whether you join a free safelist, or a paid safelist, you too can email those members of the list about your website or offer.
Some safelists allow you to join free - but with limitations. Such as - if you join free, you might only be allowed to email a certain number of members only once a week. However, paid members are allowed to post every day or every other day.
A very important factor when using a safelist is to have your email opened. A catching subject line will do the trick. Look at all the emails you receive – study the subject lines and you can learn what it takes for an email to be opened.
Another important factor is not to use your primary email address when joining a safelist. You are bound to receive quite a number of emails from the other members of the list – so the best way is to set up an email address especially for that list. Gmail lets you open several email accounts for free.
• One of the best lists that I am a member of is ViralURL. I find this to be the MOST responsive list of all. I do not know if as a free member one can email other lists members – but as a paid member I can email 3,000 random members every 3 days – which adds up to 30,000 a month. A traffic exchange and surf website receives website submissions from webmasters that join traffic exchange networks. The person who submitted the website then has to browse other member sites on the exchange program to earn credits, which enable their sites to be viewed by other members through the surf system. This increases the number of visitors to all the sites involved.
Exchanges enforce a certain credit ratio, which illustrates the amount of websites the surfer must view in order to receive one hit through the program for their promoted website. Many sites offer the ability to upgrade one's membership level for a more equal credit ratio.
As the viewers are all website owners or affiliates, it is possible that some might find certain member sites interesting and thus make note of them on their own sites, sending more traffic their way. Most traffic programs also impose a time limit when members are browsing, ranging from 10 seconds to 60 seconds.
Some traffic exchange sites also offer payments for viewing the minimum number of websites imposed by the particular site. This in itself promotes a win win situation – getting paid and getting ‘eyeballs’ on your own websites and banners.
• One such traffic exchange website is Ad Ventures 4 U – when one joins and upgrades (minimum $10) – the upgraded member gets paid 14% of their upgrade (Ventures) every week – for surfing 26 websites (10 minutes) every day. A member can advertise both websites and banners on the site itself (included in the price of the upgrade). Ad Venures 4U is a very safe site situated in Panama !! Safe List and traffic exchanges are great avenues to build your traffic to get eye ball to your offers. Understanding how to control that traffic to direct it to your end result is where most of the frustration build from.
It take quite a few contact with a reader to get them to commit to your offer. So when you are using safe list and traffic exchanges your first contact is not to close the deal but to get the reader to seek interest in what you are offering and ask for more information to procure the sale or sign up.

That right there tells me those lists don't work. I have tried these lists and they don't work. It is like junk mail, if you don't want it and why would you send it to others.

Comment by John P Franks on June 29, 2009 at 1:22pm - Safelists (even free membership) and TE's worked great back in the "good ole days" of 2003-2005, when the majority of newbies were relatively new to the home based business culture. PPC was easy in those days for pro IM'ers, keyword stuffing was common practice for "simple as pie" organic traffic. ... Today the picture is very different, we have social media sites sprouting up all over the place, and although some have been abused by some they are very powerful. In my experience most surfers on Safelists and TE's today don't even look at the pages, in fact most smarter surfers are using "auto-clickers" which are readily available for people that don't have paid membership, bearing in mind that these porr individuals have had no training, are desperately looking for buyers, and are just "clicking for credits" so they can blast out another bunch of ads the next day... sorry if I'm labouring the point - all that said, Viral Url which you mentioned maybe different today.

I have used safe list and gotten minimum response. The traffic exchangers for me work better. I joined Ad Ventures and have enjoyed the success of the program and the responses are good too!
Different methods work for different people because nothing is a "one size fit all" I like the variety of sharing with others what I have and veiwing what others are doing for income streams.

Everything said it is true, I use these safelist site to promote my sites and ads, all I get the flood emails that will let me free only by click ons. It is really annoying, they first advertise you can place ads for free, then they ask to upgrade and it can be very costly to maybe avoid emails like those. I am with GotSafelist.com and with ViralUrl.com. If you have a better solution for me to place an ad that is done with getting those floods of emails, I would really appreciate that.

This method of advertising might be "alive and well" but the conversion rates are low, low, low and therefore are ineffective. Blogging is not advertising but to share information. Consumers are not fooled into thinking advertising is "information sharing".

Free safelists, paid safelists, traffic exchange and surf sites are very popular. However, based on my own experience, are not very effective tools for the serious online marketer. If you want serious results, voice broadcasting is the way to go. Since being introduced to iBuzzPro several months ago my online business has exploded. It is a business tool with a business opportunity attached to it and works with any product, service, or business opportunity. It is very effective and only the serious prospects repond to your broadcasts, resulting a higher success rate for sales and new downline members.
