Do You Really Believe What They are Saying in Washington?
Were the AIG bonuses all that wrong & criminal as our President and many members of Congress, as well as the press, want us to believe? The fact is it was stipulated in the Stimulus Bill, by Senator Dodd I believe, that bonuses contractually agreed on prior to February 11 were to be paid. It seems incredible little attention has been paid to this stipulation. In this light, it does seem our government is misleading us.

Additionally, we have been torturing prisoners of war?? Torture is the inflicting of intense pain (as from burning, crushing or wounding) esp. to punish or obtain a confession (definition from Webster’s). Water boarding is simply pouring water over someone's head wrapped in a cloth; no water entering the body or pain inflicted. Yet, our government leads us to believe this is "immoral" torture. Additionally, many members of Congress, including Nancy Pelosi and other democrats, were kept abreast of the interrogation techniques and approved them. Why is this now such a huge issue what with the attacks on our homeland that were thwarted as a result and the current challenges our country faces? It seems to me focusing on the current issues, as opposed to yesterday's, makes for more efficient use of time and our tax dollars.
