You get better deals and most times, little to no shipping charges, plus, there is a good chance you pay no tax either. If I need to see something first, I go to a store. Most business is not local anymore (national chains rule the day) so there is little incentive for me to shop in person. If there is a local merchant who carries it for a similar price, I do give them the business.
