I wanted to share some insights from one of the audio lessons from a tremendous new mentor and mastermind for me named Bill Bartmann "The Billionaire Business Coach". He is the only self made Billionaire with a B who has exclusively devoted his life to teaching others. With that kind of a resume, I thought it would be worthwhile to listen to what he has to say on my iLearningGlobal audio library. He also has some great HD video's as well. I absolutely love his teaching style as well as his content is amazing and extremely insightful! Bill is only one of the many "rich" resources within iLearningGlobal (ILG). For today's post and wanted to share with you some of my insights on his lesson on self esteem and how that effects how we process information and how that relates to some other great lessons from by dear friend Bela and her tremendous book "A Bella Life" and of course the "The Go-Giver " by Bob Burg and John David Mann.

First, let's look at the "4 Laws of Self Esteem": as related by Bill Bartmann

  • 1. There is a principle of survival
  • 2. The subconscious mind is stronger than the conscious mind.
  • 3. Our subconscious will not let us do something it thinks we are incapable of doing.
  • 4. Our subconscious will either help us or hinder us based on the information it retrieves.

The next law I'd like to share is from "The Go-Giver". The 4th Law of Stratospheric Success is the Law of Authenticity: "The most valuable gift you have to offer is yourself."

Finally I'd like to share a truly inspiring quote from Bela's book, "A Bella Life."

"Think about a dark room. The minute any little bit of light is brought in, the room is no longer dark - the light overpowers the darkness. I want you to choose light, not darkness. I want the beautiful pure light within all of us to spread through the universe creating an abundance of love, happiness, kindness, and peace for all - creating a bright bella life for everyone!"

I'm blessed to have each of these tremendous people in my life as a mentor and feel like I "know" them all either through facebook, phone discussions or the power of ILG. It struck me that the common thread between all of these is our emotional personal intention and how that relates to what it directs our subconscious mind to think and therefore do. Have you ever heard a song on the radio and instantly you're transported back in time to an event that you had linked this song with or "assigned" a memory to it? Its very powerful! It could have been 20 years ago and yet in that moment, you are instantly engulfed in that moment again...you remember what you were wearing, the scent of his or her perfume/cologne, the emotions that you felt...good or bad. I know I have several songs like that for me.

Then it hit me after listening to Bill's lesson, I remember these things so vividly because I first chose to assign a meaning to it for the good or bad..(light or dark). I then allowed this raw emotion of what I believe to be my true authentic self to add power to the meaning of this event. Ultimately as a result of this "emotional programming", my subconscious mind takes over and tells me how to interpret future events based on its immediate retrieval of this assigned emotional meaning.

Even if an event occurs that is one that you'd normally interpret as negative, if your positive intention is emotionally authentic , even though you don't necessarily "feel" it, eventually your subconscious will accept it as "true" for the ultimate good because that's how you've reprogrammed it to be. Ever hear the quote "Whether you think you can or you think you can't you're right?" I know this to be true more than ever! Whew, that's deep! Being the Pisces that I am, I'm very in touch with my emotions. I've been pondering how do I use this insight for my ultimate good and growth and positive impact on others. Here's what I've concluded with this end goal in mind: If I want to continually grow and advance, I must purposefully choose to assign a positive emotional meaning to each event so that I can be sure that the programming being sent to my subconscious mind will result in the desired answer/action I'm looking for. ..or as in the words of Obama, "Yes we can!!!" There is definitely something to that :)

I encourage us all to pay more attention to the messages that we allow ourselves to accept as true and what meaning we choose to assign to them and how that in turn determines what we believe is our ultimate power to accomplish what our mind conceives. We can't accomplish "big" things if we don't allow ourselves to think big! Now that's powerful!

"No one can make you feel inferior without your permission." Eleanor Roosevelt

Thanks to all those who have posted a comment!
I would like to clarify that it is my belief one measure of our level of self esteem can be linked with financial success but in no way to I think that it is exclusive to that.

I believe self esteem can be measure in many ways from the quality of our relationships, to our ability to advance in our careers, to our belief in what is possible in our lives. I think with great self esteem comes the belief that you have much to offer the world and serve many people. The laws of success naturally dictate that if you make serving many people your goal you will be compensated for that. It may not be competely in financial rewards but that is certainly within the realm of a reward along with inner happiness, contentment, and genuine love of self. I don't think that being financially successful is the ultimate reward or definition of self esteem but I do believe that it is impossible without it if you are to earn it!

Thanks for your comments!

To Your Success,

Absolutlly right you are, Amy. Self steem I believe I have a good one, but you indeed brought mine down knocking me with a new floor at my kness.
Our rewards come out from our actions, and indeed you brought light to the dark.
"If I want to continually grow and advance, I must purposefully choose to assign a positive emotional meaning to each event so that I can be sure that the programming being sent to my subconscious mind will result in the desired answer/action I'm looking for."
And, "Yes we can!", as said Obama...
Not only, we can and need to think more often about positive over negative thinkings after our own reactions.
An example, my brother called me because he forgot his id at home and since he told me it would be on one of three pockets of his jacket, and imediatelly after not finding it, it came to my mind that someone stolled it. Well, it wasn't the case, but that shows you how my inner self counts of experiences, down here in Brazil.
And since they are inside our incouncious mind, they are hard to come out, but we need, at that moment, to comprehend that the evil was inside myself, because instantly, when I thought about the stolen wallet, I had on my mind clear the person who did it. That means, instintivelly I showed to my self that I did not trust a person who was with us the night before.
Hard, but excelente lesson this one you just gave me, flowerishing this up to me.
Thank you.

Absolutely! Self esteem is the key to success, because if you don't like yourself, how can you expect anyone else to? People are always attracted to happy confident leaders! If you believe in yourself, nothing can stop you! A friend of mine just lost a leg. His self esteem is incredible. He feels so lucky to be alive and healthy, who cares if he just has one leg. His motto:
Shut up, stop whining, Get a life! If he can care about himself and his self esteem, who are we not to?

Self esteem gives you the power to believe in yourself. But don't confuse that with cockiness.
Stanislav-Stan: KrTil Comment by Stanislav-Stan: KrTil on June 24, 2009 at 4:24pm
The first and the most of all --- we, humans are not here to survive. We are here to CREATE. Survival was designed for animal kingdom only, and any person or institution, which teaches survival, does that for one reason and one reason only --- to control you and to steer you into thinking from the position of lack and what you do not have.

When you are rigged into that mindset of lack, shortages, control, competition and survival, you are then very easy to be manipulated with.

Now about success. Success means different things to different people hence it can't be categorized or labeled. Our society however loves to do just that because it imposes limitations upon others making them feel less worthy if they are not as successful as what prescribed success is supposed to be.

Success comes to every individual through discipline of learning about him, herself. Direct cause of discipline is love and respect for yourself; another tool of discipline or technique to gain discipline, is dedication to the truth.

Being truly successful in life means to have a BALANCE in our life, just as Universe is in perfect balance, our life in balance will bring the highest level of self-esteem.

Self-esteem is a direct indicator a gauge if you will to all important things we do in life -- being it our occupation, carrier, marriage, physical or spiritual health, etc., etc.

Hence, CHEERS to your self-esteem first, stop surviving, start living. I remain

Respectfully yours

Obviously self esteem is important for success, no matter how you define it. However I must admit I find the psychological mumbo jumbo distracting and unnecessary. I agree with Rob that the "million dollar mindset" should be called into question. It is not obvious to me that having such a mindset results in "success". Look around and ask your self if the cocky self-assured people pushing in front of you are really as successful as they think they are. Or are they deluded by attending too many sales motivation and personal awareness sessions?

Our self-esteem not only effects us it has an effect on those we interact with. Positive self-esteem gives us the courage and the confidence to try and achieve the things we dare to dream and makes others more prone to believe in and encourage us. Low self-esteem makes one less likely to make an attempt and failing to try always leads to failure.

I don't need any psychobabble to understand that if you don't believe in yourself, no one else will. It's that simple.

"Everything turns out right in the end - if it isn't right, it isn't the end!" (bernardpercy.com)
Our cosmic forces guides us along a highway littered with unwritten rules, bumps, potholes and more. For those with high self-esteem, many obstacles are avoided. Others however, may find themselves taking longer to arrive at their destination. I have plenty more to say in my upcoming MUSICOLOGY book series - there are excerpts out there - start at ezinearticles.com and search the google machine - now can you feel me!! LA Jackson 2009
