Discover the true Facts about Solar Energy and turn your city Green.

Here we discuss Facts about solar energy usage, systems, plus sun related and other Interesting Facts about Solar Energy. All of which will help you with your decision whether or not to install a solar energy system at your home and make your city Green.
Perhaps you'd even like to save yourself a lot of money and build your very own solar energy system.

General facts

• Solar Energy is better for the environment than traditional forms of energy.
• Solar energy has many uses such as electricity production and heating of water through photovoltaic cells and directly for drying clothes.
• Solar energy can also be used to heat swimming pools, power cars, for attic fans, calculators and other small appliances.
• It produces lighting for indoors or outdoors.
• Solar Energy is becoming more and more popular. The worldwide demand for Solar Energy is currently greater than supply.

Facts about Solar Energy usage:

• Solar Energy is measured in kilowatt-hour. 1 kilowatt = 1000 watts.
• 1 kilowatt-hour (kWh) = the amount of electricity required to burn a 100 watt light bulb for 10 hours.
• According to the US Department of Energy, an average American household used approximately 866-kilowatt hours per month costing them $70.68.
• About 30% of our total energy consumption is used to heat water.

Sun related Facts about Solar Energy

• Sunlight travels to the earth in approximately 8 minutes from 93,000,000 miles away, at 186,282 miles per second.
• The sun is also the main source of non-renewable fossil fuels (coal, gas and petroleum), which began life as plants or animals whose energy came from the sun millions of year ago.
• Solar energy is responsible for weather patterns and ocean currents.
• Clouds, pollution and wind can prevent the sun's rays from reaching the earth.

Who has any data on the environmental effects of creating/manufacturing photovoltaic's and or other solar collection products. How about disposal of these materials at the end of useful life? If production and disposal of solar collectors vs tradtional energy production and disposal are not factored in then any quantitative comparisons then we are not considering total environmental costs. Environmental costs do differ from monetary costs of production.

I am not trying to dampen the value, just look at all aspects of creating energy. If someone doesn't ask the question, and we don't find the answer then we have left out an important factor in the overall equation.

Exploration of new technologies and ideas are more important than they every have been. My background includes extensive work in Environmental Resource Management. I am all for meeting our needs better, cleaner, safer, faster...

There is no question in my mind as to Solar Energy being a good thing. Solar energy is a natural part of universe. It's energy is all around us at all times why not use it.

Does Solar Energy Help the Environment? - Is this a trick question???

Not only is solar a most viable alternative to fossil energy, but getting solar on your property is now easier than ever. If you can't afford to "BUY" the equipment, then replace your electric bill with a small lease payment and lock in your rate for up to "25 YEARS"! Try getting THAT deal from your electric company... "AIN'T; as in Ain't gonna happen, folks. But you can get the scoop here and reserve your system today. FIrst visit my site then give me a call. Here's the URL to get started now:

Actually, there are always facts and debates as to how great solar energy helps overall. And by all means, it does have it's function in the market place.

So a few key questions:
Can the average household afford it?
How can solar energy BEST be used to it's greatest efficiency?
What is the average life cycle per installation?
What are the overall environmental effects, exactly?
What can be recycled? To what extent?

Once we, the average consumer, know for sure (like recycling orange peels) the answers to these questions. Then it's still in development.

Having a green business, I feel it's important to live by example. Our home is solarized. We are hooked up to the grid since we at an elevation that gets more rain (we are in Hawaii) but we still produce enough energy for our personal use and feedback into the grid. On extended rainy days, we pull from the grid what we fed into it. Besides energy, find more green solutions here at www.MomIsTheBest.com

Great little piece! Oh i agree 200% with Solar. Plus once set up it's FREE. Can't get much better than that! I'm all for everything which will help our environment & the future for our children. I think if you live in an area where the sun is in your favor most of the year that we make the most of it. In other places where wind is in your favor they use wind. What ever it may be as long as it is not coal, or nuclear etc & it's clean energy, we are doing well. here is all Eco friendly products i sell. www.pureearthnoosa.com
