I believe everyone will agree that writing is necessary when participating in both social and business ventures. The ability to write is not inherent in everyone. There are many individuals that have the ability to write in a social situation but are at a complete loss to write for business.

When you are attempting to market your products on your web site you have four possibilities to consider in connection with the presentation.

1. Will you attempt to present your product with your current knowledge of writing?
2. Will you hire a writer?
3. Will you improve your writing abilities by learning how to write for business?
4. Will you utilize templates prepared for business writers?

If your selection is number 1, you must possess the ability to write in such a way to give your product a chance to succeed.

If your selection is number 2, you must be prepared to pay for the writer’s experience.

If your selection is number 3, then you must become knowledgeable of what resources are available to you.

If your selection is number 4, then again you must become knowledgeable of what resources are available to you.

If your selection is either 1 or 2 then I have nothing more to offer you. I am not going to tempt you with a free product to get you go to my web site. I can only wish you the best of luck in your business venture.

When you are attempting to write for profit is it wise to improve your information database. What does that mean? In order to improve your information data base and write for profit it is imperative that you avail yourself of the experience and knowledge of those individuals who have tried and failed, and then tried again and again, till they succeed.

This is not to say that everyone who tries over and over will succeed. The element of education must be included in each try until you finally get it right. You may be able to prepare an article that many people will enjoy reading but have you prepared your article in such a way to convince the reader to take an action that will provide you with income?

You can try many different approaches and test your articles to see if you can discover the secrets involved in profitable writing. Taking this approach of trying it on your own could take a very long time and in the end prove fatal to your success. You can improve your success at writing for profit if you accept the experience of others as a necessary part of your product preparation. There are many products available and depending on your needs, these products can be relatively inexpensive compared with what you can earn by improving your writing. The biggest asset you can have is to realize that no matter how well you write there is always room for improvement.

If your selection is either 3 or 4, then I recommend you take the time to look at my web site. Once again I am not going to offer you a free product at this time to go to my site.

If you truly want to improve you’re ability to present a better looking and appealing Product, then that should be enough of a reason to investigate what I have to offer. Don’t just glance at the first page and then leave. Take the time to look at all the pages and learn about my products and me. This is where the phrase been there done that comes into play. There are many resources on the internet that will assist you in learning how to write articles, business letters, e-books, and many other type of writing. The trick is to learn how to write in such a way that your product will be the most profitable to you. If you would rather have a ready-made presentation, then I recommend a product that provides templates for you to use.

One of the biggest assets you can have for writing is to realize that no matter how good you are at writing the experience and knowledge of others can always be of a benefit to you. There are many aspects to writing and I do not believe it is possible for any one person to possess the knowledge required to produce and publish products that will allow you to earn money on the Internet.

Isn't it about time you take advantage of the knowledge of others who have tried and succeeded to assist you reaching your goal of earning money on the internet?

I have a web site linking you to the many products that can improve your writing abilities. The links offer you the know how to write articles for cash as well as writing e-books and many other ideas for earning cash on the internet. There are also products available that can provide you with ready-made templates to help you with your writing needs. I also recommend you visit my site for a free product in connection with getting a stampede of traffic to your site. Remember if you do not know a product exists which can help you, it is your loss, not mine.

Power of PINK Breast Cancer Fou. Comment by Power of PINK Breast Cancer Fou. on June 19, 2009 at 7:40pm
Carl, I do agree that writing, personal and business, is important. I designed and wrote everything on my website. I did the best I could, but then decided to use a professional writer to make any necessary corrections. Now, this professional writer is a cancer survivor and is not charging me to do so. Thank goodness, she found that she had to make very few corrections. That made me feel good and confident about my writing ability.

After reviewing my website (www.thepowerofpinkbcf.org) you will see that my twin sister is a breast cancer survivor. We are in the process of having a book published. I tried writing the book myself but after about 4 chapters, I decided that I did not have the knowledge and experience to write the book on my own. So, I hired a ghostwriter. For this particular project, I think I made the right move.

However, I do have to type up business letters to corporations, patients, staff members, and volunteers. If I do not type these correctly, the letters will look unprofessional. Who would want to donate gifts or cash to an unprofessional organization? Thank goodness, I do have the knowledge needed to write. Of course, I am not perfect and I do not know it all, but I am getting by. I will look at your site to see what more I can learn about writing.

The ability to write is definitely an asset in improving your chances of succeeding online. Writing copy for your site(s), blog(s), emails or ads is extremely important as you only have roughly about 13-20 seconds to catch the attention of your potential lead/customer. Then, you have to keep them interested. Today I follow a modified version of the old rule of thumb, "It's not what you say... It's how you say it...". The modified version that I follow is "It IS WHAT you write and it IS HOW you write it!". If you are writing for online business success, your blog or if you are looking for followers on twitter? You need keywords or phrases related to the information you are providing to your readers, clients or potential clients that you will be using whenever writing about that subject. Now I'm not a PPC user yet but I do write some similarly styled ads. In this situation, not only do you need keywords, you also need keywords that WOW you readers because you have a lesser amount of characters that you are allowed to use or your ad is not accepted. In other situations, if you type more characters than the display allows, the extra characters are just cut off. So in answer to your question today, it is one of the most important factors in succeeding on or offline if you are dealing with people.

I consider myself a writer, so naturally I do most of my own writing. But when it comes to writing ad copy for our art gallery, I ask my husband, who is an artist and poet.

Whilst we all have different skills, yes the ability to write effectively is very important, we also have very different preferences. My preference is for people to get to the point quickly but eloquently. I look at many articles, blogs and landing pages and think "Get on with it" and if someone sends me an e-mail that is more than a couple of paragraphs, I just delete it, as I value my time.

Great article thanks and I read most of it, honest!

I don't think the ability to write is what captures the attention of a reader who is seeking to purchase a product or service more than the writers ability to pull them into whatever it is they are trying to sell. So... I think its more important to be a great story teller than a great writer. There are hundreds of books to correct grammar content etc. But there is nothing on the market that can get the attention of the audience...accept perhaps your story. Well....that's my opinion.
Mark Griffith Comment by Mark Griffith on June 19, 2009 at 7:13pm
Writing is important for two main reasons.

1. To communicate with others.

2. To structure your own thoughts.

1. and 2. help each other, of course. Communicating is structuring, and structuring is communicating. Most businesses, however, are run by people who think that "being able to write" means being able to form the letters, spell, recognise words and so on. Almost all user guides for toasters, washing machines, electronic appliances - and almost all software - show us immediately that those business owners don't think there is such a skill as writing. Or that they think writing is something they already do well.

In fact, the directors of a computing firm making a typical piece of software have not only never written a clear sentence of English - they've probably never even read one.

Which creates a major problem.

3. How do you communicate with people who are not very good at structuring their own thoughts, or who structure them in a primitive way? {such as "I want to sell more of my products - how can a writer help me do this? I already know what sells and what doesn't."}

By definition, they don't know they have a problem. As with Rumsfeld's example of the things "we don't know that we don't know", they are supremely confident of not needing your advice, not needing anything as hilariously basic as a _writer_.

Carl Mortimer knows this problem well, though he might be too tactful to say it out loud. The people who think they don't need his help actually are the people who need it most of all.

Which is why writers are notoriously bad at persuading business owners they need their skills. This is a case where the Missouri "show me" test isn't appropriate. If a business owner is so sure of himself he says "Show me" to a writer, he already "knows" he needs no help and is not open to persuasion - which is of course all he thinks writing is for. "Making" people do things for him.

All the stories among ad men of advertising copy that "_sells_" are attempts to politely sidestep this fundamental problem of communicating with the client who might pay you to communicate with _his_ clients. No ad copy "sells" - it will persuade some buyers and not others, depending on who is ready to buy and who isn't. This is why most 20th-century ads needed to use either irrelevant images of attractive objects or overstated promises of instant wealth - because they were written for buyers of writing in a culture that insists writing should _make_ people do things, make them buy, make them want, make them vote a certain way..... anything but just communicate with them.

This is where you end up when most of the people paying for writing think they write well themselves, and cannot imagine writing has any other use if it doesn't serve the acquisitive, controlling desires that dominate their own lives.
