I believe everyone will agree that writing is necessary when participating in both social and business ventures. The ability to write is not inherent in everyone. There are many individuals that have the ability to write in a social situation but are at a complete loss to write for business.

1. Will you attempt to present your product with your current knowledge of writing?
2. Will you hire a writer?

If your selection is number 1, you must possess the ability to write in such a way to give your product a chance to succeed.

I think the quality of any article, ad, blog etc needs to be of a professional standard. The internet supplies anyone with the ability to be an 'expert' in any field yet if this information is not portrayed to potential customers and associates then you are committing business suicide. I for one, after conducting alot of research into finding the right business for me, was horrified at some of the content that people put out there on the internet. I would hastily move on to the next article, or opportunity if the writing was not up to scratch. You my friend are obviously well trained in the art of writing which I'm sure will carry you the distance in whatever enterprise you involve yourself in. Hayden

Everything that we do when sending out informational emails have to be up to date data and add special articles, ans quotes about your topic. After I send email I do follow up with a hand written letter to make it more personal to that new prospect. When was the last time you received a hand written letter to say thank you? I add that special personal and they get to know me and that I am not only selling them something but also adding value to help build more of a long term business relationship. Try it you will be amazed as to the repeat business and referrals from that client.

Giving people information over the value it will create for them is the ultimate objective. We need to be to the point -- I hate websites that go on for pages and pages. I am busy and I want the information in a simple format.

If you are a technical person, and spend most of your time writing code - and you're good at it, writing in the way you mean isn't really crucial. However, I have read several blogs that I wanted to subscribe to, but was turned off by their lack of writing skills. I guess in the end, it really depends on what you are delivering.
