I believe everyone will agree that writing is necessary when participating in both social and business ventures. The ability to write is not inherent in everyone. There are many individuals that have the ability to write in a social situation but are at a complete loss to write for business.

1. Will you attempt to present your product with your current knowledge of writing?
2. Will you hire a writer?

If your selection is number 1, you must possess the ability to write in such a way to give your product a chance to succeed.

Abbreviations and Web 2.0 words might sound unprofessional, but they appeal to a more connected demographic. As long as they are in correct grammar, I got nothing against it.

On a side note, notice how most web communities use some kind wacky name: hulu, twitter, flickr, pandora, stumbleupon, ning, zazzle, kaboodle, squidoo, plaxo, yelp, zazzle just to name a few.

Do people not know the meaning of FREE anymore. Maybe more should be taught to yse a dictionary. I dont mind paying for an article but please dont tell me it is FREE if I have to pay for it

I keep in mind how much resumes have changed in format from when I was taught how to do resumes. What I was originally taught wouldn't get very far today.

However, I constantly beef up and update that knowledge with articles, tutorials, templates, etc. I think that, with the internet, etc. being so much a part of our lives now, it is just not practical to rely on information that was correct and up-to-date 10 or more years ago.

I am a musician and believe that going to school will teach you all the theory you need to write music for the masses but it also constricts the innovation and inventiveness that is needed to write something truely original and heartfelt. I think that writing something heartfelt is the best way to get your product to the masses and I don't want to follow guidelines to write a shallow piece that is meaningless to the author. I know there would be a ton of great information on your site but I am also not willing to learn it as of yet.
