StartUp

I really like the title of this particular blog post for several reasons. One reason is because it is the New Year and two because of my website dilemma.

I have hit a road block in completing my website in the area of content and what to keep from my old site. I have gained so much knowledge in the area of Social Media and Buzz Marketing that I want to write about it in big flashing letters, but at the same time I have so many valuable basic ecommerce and administrative skills that helped me get where I am today as a Virtual Assistant. It seems wrong to abandon that part of my content (and life for that matter) for the more glamorous side of my online image.

Then, to add to the confusion, I have had many emails from people who want to help get some serious “flashiness” going on my site. This is great, fun stuff, but abandons who I am at the basic level of my personal style. My style is less fanciful and more about getting to the point and getting things done. So, this was a hard choice to make as well.

As far as making a fancy site, I will leave that up to the graphic design professionals and keep true to myself using my ever beloved KISS (Keep it Simple Stupid) Theory. Whether my site keeps up with the big wigs or not, when you come to my site you will know what I do and how to contact me instantly and I chose that for you as my reader.

As far as content goes, I am still deliberating. I know it is going to be important for me to let my readers know that I have gained new usable skills in Social Media, but I also can work on other projects that will help their business as well.

I hope when I announce that the site is officially done that it will convey my traditional values/skills (the old) while providing my readers with some exciting insight on how Social Media (the new) will help them grow their business.
