One Final Note:
Networking on Sta.rtUp.biz is no different from any other business networking event that you attend in person. The rules of success are the same.
1) You need to be well dressed - A nice profile and profile picture
2) You have to work the room - 100 comments a day
3) You engage before selling - Thoughtful comments
4) You ask for a business card - Make a friend request

You would never show up to an event in a tank top and start shouting out loud, "I sell insurance!" over and over again. It is rude, people will ignore you, and you will probably be escorted outside by security and told never to come back.

The same is true here.

Thank you to put it out so clearly. I like to connect, I don't like to have a comment wall full of ads. I only just joined and had straight away two sales pitches and have deleted them straight away. I am happy to receive comments from people who want to connect.

Hello,
I work from home selling power and natural gas in the deregulated states. I became interested in networking because of the people you get to meet and interact with. I believe that it is impossible to make yourself a better person if you do not find ways to help those around you become more successful as well. A famous man once said you will get fewer and fewer chances to say thank you, I agree and believe that you will get fewer and fewer chances to impact those around you! Take advantage of every opportunity!
