One Final Note:
Networking on Sta.rtUp.biz is no different from any other business networking event that you attend in person. The rules of success are the same.
1) You need to be well dressed - A nice profile and profile picture
2) You have to work the room - 100 comments a day
3) You engage before selling - Thoughtful comments
4) You ask for a business card - Make a friend request

You would never show up to an event in a tank top and start shouting out loud, "I sell insurance!" over and over again. It is rude, people will ignore you, and you will probably be escorted outside by security and told never to come back.

The same is true here.

Oh I forgot to introduce myself :-D

Its obvious my name is Kiran. Live in London..used to be a software developer and these days I am trying to mind my own business and my mister's..LOL..which woman doesn't? :)

Reading up on joint ventures, affiliate marketing, copy writing and planning how I can start my own skincare business along with helping my partner's construction business.

Hoping to find good people I can work with and create win/win situations for ourselves.

Hi there,

Before I go any further to introduce myself, I would firstly agree with Micheal Crooks :-)

People love to talk about themselves and if one really wants to learn the art of * effective networking* we should get in the habit of listening and trying to find out what the other person wants and actually try to help them to solve their problems. Then only are we in the position to actually discuss OUR needs and wants.

Change your mindset. Instead of focusing on what YOU want(I doub't if anyone cares about that to begin with) focus trying to get other people what THEY want. Then only can we truly benefit.

Kind Regards
Kiran Bokhari

Great information as usual. People forget, even though we are networking online, there is a person behind the page. So the more friendly and reflective of what you do the better. My page actually took a while to get where it is now. So, it's interesting to browse other pages where I got a couple of ideas from. This is such a great network.! Thanks!

I have to agree with Micheal Crooks on the whole welcome comment LOL. I don't think the people who send or sent them (to me or everyone else on the network) have read this article.
Thanks for the tips, will keep them all in mind and active.

Ciao,

Maria
