Are you writing more and enjoying it less? I hope not. I have been discovering, day by day, that writing online is a freeing experience. It frees me to think out loud and share my thoughts with literally thousands of interested readers, like yourselves.

I have only occasionally written my own blogs for sta.rtup.biz. However, I find myself regularly responding excitedly to other people's blogs, especially because of the promise of winning money, $1,000. I have not yet won that prize, but I keep trying. In the process, I continue to make new friends. People love to read the comments of all those people who have read their words, who understand what they are thinking and feeling, and who either agree, disagree, or offer some additional insights.

In my writing practices, I have also written 88 articles to date for http://www.ezinearticles.com. What has been so exciting about writing these articles is that I am gradually building a reputation for myself as an expert in my niche: healing, love and relationships. I see the statistics daily of how many people have actually read each specific article, how many have clicked on my URL, how many articles received 5 stars, and some additional factors. It was exciting when the number of viewers exceeded 100, and then when it went over 1000, and then over 10,000. At this point, to me this is mind-bogglling, there are over 13,000 people who have read my articles.

Recently I realized that as a Diamond Member at sta.tup.biz, my blogs (one per month) can be read by over 40,000 readers who are members. The numbers are becoming astounding! The only thing left to do is to offer something of value and sit back and enjoy the responses.

In February, only a few months ago, I was invited to write for another site, http://www.examiner.com.
This is an article site with national and local specialists, called examiners, writing about their selected niche topics. I am officially the Miami Relationships Examiner, writing basically for online readers located in South Florida. This niche is good for my purpose of promoting my private counselng practice and my local seminars. There are also national examiners who write for a broader base of readers.

What is unique and special about examiner.com is that they have a payment schedule. You are no longer just writing blogs and articles for free. You have the capacity to get paid. Now, the fee schedule is quite low, but it is based upon the number of clicks onto the site of people reading your specific articles. My readership has been slowly building since I began in February, but then I wrote one article, just one article that hit a bullseye. Within just two days, the number of people who clicked on the site and read my articles was over 6,000. And, the potential is limitless.

If you would like to become an examiner yourself, writing about your own niche, go to http://www.examiner.com and please use Referral Code #3145.

I think that writing is the single best way to connect with customers/clients that you cannot meet face-to-face. It is really the only way to communicate to them the value that you place on them, on what you have to offer, etc. That is why I believe there is a distinct line between chat talk (where the use of e-slang, and poor grammar, punctuation, spelling, etc. are acceptable) and professional writing, such as business blogs, website content, etc. (where such things are not as acceptable, except in specific contexts). The casual feeling of the web sometimes makes us forget that this is the case. I wouldn't wear a t-shirt to an interview, and I wouldn't use most forms of e-slang on my web page.

What an odd title examiner.com for article writing.

I am slowly picking up the threads of writing good content, but have a long way to go yet. I'm sure I'll never aspire to being good enough to be paid, but I hope I can become interesting enough to be read.

I am getting practice by reading and commenting on those blogs and articles arising on St.rt Biz. which interest me and are capable of prompting me to respond.

I do like this site and enjoy reading peoples views and experiences from which I have learned a great deal and from which I am gaining confidence to join in and have my say via the written word.

I actually have worked as a business & technical writer for most of my career since graduating college. I truly enjoy putting ideas and concepts down that most anyone will be able to understand. I believe that a writer is supposed to clarify for the reader, not lecture to. This has actually helped my in my current paid position as QA. However, I also understand, owning a small internet retail business, that my customers get drawn in as much by my written words as they do by the "pretty pictures."

At my Senior Age of 65, I find writing online a new venue for Teaching & Learning. Indeed, it might just be a new Revenue Source for me - as I become less mobile in the coming years. Good Luck to your writings.

Yes, yes, yes. I have always like to write but somehow couldn't get my ideas from my brain to my hand, they seemed to short circuit somewhere about my elbow. The blogging format is working very well for me--short bursts of brilliance are very satisfying. Posting on the net is garnering responses from people all over the World - what a treat. You can check out my blog and add your comments too. I would love to hear from you.

Hi Dr. Goodstone:

We have corresponded before so you know I love to write. I just published Chapter 8 in The Life of Carl and will continue with more episodes. In the meantime I continue to write articles having to do with Learning to Write. My next business article is scheduled to be listed on Startup this Friday. I also write for Ezine and ideamarketers. Ideamarketers publishes immediately and is less restrictive that Ezine. Best Wishes, Carl

Yes, writing can be very liberating. Unfortunately, I find it very difficult to find those in the real world with whom I can converse on the level I desire about those topics which interest me most. Writing--whether somewhere on the internet or simply opening a page of MS Word--proves to be a good medium through which I can express myself particularly when I need to ventilate or release some negative emotion.
