Are you writing more and enjoying it less? I hope not. I have been discovering, day by day, that writing online is a freeing experience. It frees me to think out loud and share my thoughts with literally thousands of interested readers, like yourselves.

I have only occasionally written my own blogs for sta.rtup.biz. However, I find myself regularly responding excitedly to other people's blogs, especially because of the promise of winning money, $1,000. I have not yet won that prize, but I keep trying. In the process, I continue to make new friends. People love to read the comments of all those people who have read their words, who understand what they are thinking and feeling, and who either agree, disagree, or offer some additional insights.

In my writing practices, I have also written 88 articles to date for http://www.ezinearticles.com. What has been so exciting about writing these articles is that I am gradually building a reputation for myself as an expert in my niche: healing, love and relationships. I see the statistics daily of how many people have actually read each specific article, how many have clicked on my URL, how many articles received 5 stars, and some additional factors. It was exciting when the number of viewers exceeded 100, and then when it went over 1000, and then over 10,000. At this point, to me this is mind-bogglling, there are over 13,000 people who have read my articles.

Recently I realized that as a Diamond Member at sta.tup.biz, my blogs (one per month) can be read by over 40,000 readers who are members. The numbers are becoming astounding! The only thing left to do is to offer something of value and sit back and enjoy the responses.

In February, only a few months ago, I was invited to write for another site, http://www.examiner.com.
This is an article site with national and local specialists, called examiners, writing about their selected niche topics. I am officially the Miami Relationships Examiner, writing basically for online readers located in South Florida. This niche is good for my purpose of promoting my private counselng practice and my local seminars. There are also national examiners who write for a broader base of readers.

What is unique and special about examiner.com is that they have a payment schedule. You are no longer just writing blogs and articles for free. You have the capacity to get paid. Now, the fee schedule is quite low, but it is based upon the number of clicks onto the site of people reading your specific articles. My readership has been slowly building since I began in February, but then I wrote one article, just one article that hit a bullseye. Within just two days, the number of people who clicked on the site and read my articles was over 6,000. And, the potential is limitless.

If you would like to become an examiner yourself, writing about your own niche, go to http://www.examiner.com and please use Referral Code #3145.

I'm just getting the gist of what blogging is all about. I'm concerned about all the blogs that are written as fact when they are just opinions. There are people that jump on the "band wagon" before they research and may end up loosing money and/or time. I admit, I have been one of those people and I have no one to blame but myself. I don't want to be the one responsible for misleading anyone. I'm disabled. It's been suggested to me, that blogging is a good way to chronicle your health issues on a daily basis. Sounds great to me. How do I get started and where?

I enjoy writing because it helps clear my head of a constant stream of thought. Typing is not one of my better skills so I still prefer the pencil to paper method. I get a closer connection or relationship to what I write that way. I'm looking into some writing transcribtion software. Does anyone have a recommendation? Enjoy, Jerry

I am because I write...er...a...well maybe not. :>) I guess when you write you really DON't have to always have some kind of profound Philosophical comment. You can sometimes just be yourself and network. After all that is the strength and value behind being in a social network anyway isn't it. You have the opportunity to connect and network with a varitety of different view people and maybe find a way to make a little money but hopefully have a good time doing it.

I'm no Plato or novelist but that's my 2 cents

Life is meant to be lived -Enjoy!

Here's a correcton: Dear Startup.biz-ers, Do you see my error?
Sandy Falagan Comment by Sandy Falagan on June 17, 2009 at 3:02pm
Hi Startup.bi-zers,

I should be writing more than letters to my family and friends. I taught writing at the college level for 13 years, and my students responded well to the suggestion of writing about themselves and being honest. That beat the assigned topics I used to put in front of them,
and then their essays would put me to sleep. What a change writing about something that means something to you and making it honest can make. I should share a story about my dad with alzheimers and about my love for him and his love for me. He may not always remember my name, but he somehow he recognizes how much I do for him. He is not totally in another world yet.

Do you think my writing in detail about what I do for him every day would interest
other care givers who may need a shoulder to lean on? Having been an English teacher, I know that is a dangling preposition But I like to write in the current vernacuar so I don't sound
stuffy, e.g. a shoulder on which to lean. In fact, I have fun using sub standard English in
conversation -- like "a'int complaining" --just for the sake of variety. I enjoy everyone's contributions very much. Keep them coming. If you want to contact me directly, please email me: sfalagan@comcast.net .

I don't write much anymore. I work at home taking calls for infomercials. I post comments between calls. I usually make one comment for a day and copy and paste it. Other wise my brain starts getting confused. I try to post some free ad sites. I post to some yahoo groups. I send some emails to leads I get off free lead sites. Sometimes I surf some surf sites.
I have not blogged for along time. I also need to update some of my websites. The websites seem to take alot of resources from the computer to do and slow down everything. I have satellite connection for internet. You get so many bits or bytes a day(one of those). When out I have to go to dailup. We live in small town in the woods and no cable or DSL available.

Yes, writing and sharing our thoughts and knowledge is an awesome experience, one that should be practiced as often as one can. Thank you for the site link as I love to grow and learn and feel that you can never get to much information. Thanks for the great post.

I am a writer, even though I have yet to write and publish my books. I have at least 6 books in my mind to write immediately.
The most I have written and "published" was my blog on The Boundless Living Challenge. My final blog got readership and wonderfully positive and encouraging comments because I "advertised" i.e. let the participants know that it was there.
My biggest passion was to understand why things are the way they are, why I am alive and what is my purpose. I did get remarkable insights and understanding. especially in hte area of religion. I love holy writings of all nations and cultures and look for commonalities rather than differences: what unites us, rather than what separates us.

I actually like writing a lot. I'm trying to get into blogging, but it's hard for me to admit I'm actually knowledgeable about something. I think I have a severe inferiority complex! Thanks for the tips and recommendations. I hope I can be as successful a writer as you :)
