Are you writing more and enjoying it less? I hope not. I have been discovering, day by day, that writing online is a freeing experience. It frees me to think out loud and share my thoughts with literally thousands of interested readers, like yourselves.

I have only occasionally written my own blogs for sta.rtup.biz. However, I find myself regularly responding excitedly to other people's blogs, especially because of the promise of winning money, $1,000. I have not yet won that prize, but I keep trying. In the process, I continue to make new friends. People love to read the comments of all those people who have read their words, who understand what they are thinking and feeling, and who either agree, disagree, or offer some additional insights.

In my writing practices, I have also written 88 articles to date for http://www.ezinearticles.com. What has been so exciting about writing these articles is that I am gradually building a reputation for myself as an expert in my niche: healing, love and relationships. I see the statistics daily of how many people have actually read each specific article, how many have clicked on my URL, how many articles received 5 stars, and some additional factors. It was exciting when the number of viewers exceeded 100, and then when it went over 1000, and then over 10,000. At this point, to me this is mind-bogglling, there are over 13,000 people who have read my articles.

Recently I realized that as a Diamond Member at sta.tup.biz, my blogs (one per month) can be read by over 40,000 readers who are members. The numbers are becoming astounding! The only thing left to do is to offer something of value and sit back and enjoy the responses.

In February, only a few months ago, I was invited to write for another site, http://www.examiner.com.
This is an article site with national and local specialists, called examiners, writing about their selected niche topics. I am officially the Miami Relationships Examiner, writing basically for online readers located in South Florida. This niche is good for my purpose of promoting my private counselng practice and my local seminars. There are also national examiners who write for a broader base of readers.

What is unique and special about examiner.com is that they have a payment schedule. You are no longer just writing blogs and articles for free. You have the capacity to get paid. Now, the fee schedule is quite low, but it is based upon the number of clicks onto the site of people reading your specific articles. My readership has been slowly building since I began in February, but then I wrote one article, just one article that hit a bullseye. Within just two days, the number of people who clicked on the site and read my articles was over 6,000. And, the potential is limitless.

If you would like to become an examiner yourself, writing about your own niche, go to http://www.examiner.com and please use Referral Code #3145.

I write to express my feelings on the intrepretation of the Scripture.
Our writings have accumluated approxamitly 200,000 readers as of today. I write messages, sermons, lessons and commentairy on every book of the Bible.

Many do not understand that God is intertwined in the sussess or failure of many financial ventures.

The fall of the styock exchange was revealed to me 2 years before it happened. The Bible is clear on the future of Gold and Silver futures in these last days. I run no business, ask for no resources, but rely entitely upon the promisses of the Lord to provide our daily needs.

The internet has opened up new and exciting frountiers for me to share the good news of Jesus. I also am involved with Ezine, Live, and other sites to publish these messages of Hope. Remember do not think more of your posessions or wealth, than the one who gave them to you.

Writing is what I do, getting paid a decent about of money is the problem that I have. If the freelance writer doesn't value themselves, neither will the client. I will not write an original 500 word article for 2-3 dollars.

Hey Richard(Scott),

Dr. Erica just produced some excellent web content. For one, if you are online you are either leading, following, or getting out of the way, right? Chances are a lot of people are starting to notice excellent writing out there, and making an effort to incorporate that into their business interests. So, for instructional purposes only, let's say leaders write, followers comment, and others either observe or ignore. It is a fundamental activity in social networking, and perhaps made so much easier by the emergence of social networking platforms.

Content is the key to engagement with niche markets. What I mean by that is the substance and quality people want to find and experience online- whatever their interests, preferences, and needs. They constitute online niche markets, and that is modern business. Even Microsoft and Google etc, all are looking to win their edge in the full spectrum of online end-users...who can provide the best in intelligent search and customized interfaces. So at the tip of the spear you are going to find people producing content and other interactive media as part of their business strategies.

Lately, I have been developing segments of content I refer to as ALPHA Interface Media's (AIM's). If you consider whatever content you produce, how that relates to your market audiences, and how it works for your business, then you can really model out some ideas and begin writing with some production value. For instance, I've been working on a concept to feature writing and blogging on my own social network. The concept that all ties it together and encourages that activity is suggesting we make part of the site an online social networking magazine.

I don't think Dr. Erica should need to defend or qualify the value of publishing content online. This is a relatively well established online/ social networking industry norm these days. The question of what value someone can get by producing content to 40,000 people is fair, but the answer is common sense. Whatever "air time" you get, it is yours, and not someone else's. Anyone can compete with the biggest name brands out there on the internet. The web is now the great leveler where a home-based business and so on can stand right next to a publicly funded corporation and get a piece of the pie. The big players are responding to this by really trying to upgrade their platforms and engage their markets with media and interfaces that will get and keep their attention. Yet, at the startup level you're starting to see small businesses forming out of platforms that are freely available to anyone. If you are any good at what you do, then you will be able to build in value for the audience, and your writing will be in high-demand. For some people, it's just a matter of building a personal name brand, and finding the right concept activity out there to publish your work/ engage your audience.

Whatever your area of personal interest might be, it is quite possible other people share it. If you don't see it out there, then produce it. If you see it out there and are left less than completely satisfied, then do it better. Networking by geographic location is hot too. Dr. Erica understates the potential for using online content to engage local markets. In particular, there are a lot more business opportunities to provide services in person and along the real lines of traffic that people put most of their money into.

For my purposes, I have no intention of paying people to write. If their writing leads to income for them, then great. What I can do is facilitate that kind of outcome. I also have no interest in paying people for referrals. People should want to come to my environment because it does not insult their intelligence and there is some aspect of the content/ interaction they actually want to experience or be a part of. However, it's unlikely the writer site Dr. Erica mentions would be an MLM concept per se. They've been talking about this on the news for years, how local writers are getting together to make magazines and newspapers online. These are legitimate businesses that monetize and incentivize the best they can. If your money comes through ads, for instance, then that can releive the burden of overhead and profitability you might have to ask your audience for. For me, I'm more interested in finding businesses that want to market themselves through the media and content they are producing.

One example I can offer is Nike. I've been checking out their nikesoccer and SPARQ features. They even have sponsored some bloggers who love to write about U.S. soccer. Another might be ESPN, who I noted when looking into their jobs were hiring blog commentators. At the same time, most of what you see people doing out there is kind of ignorant. That doesn't mean that if you know what you are doing you can't make a lot of money doing it. It's totally in reach if you recognize all you have to do is present and deliver the way your market wants. If you produce what you want, then chances are you are going to share that vision with a market- even if only one in a million people likes you. The health and wellness market for Dr. Erica is loaded with takers, and regardless of her formal qualifications, there will be people that like her work. The competition for mainstream is still up for grabs, just highly competitive. Just take a look at the Yoga Journal and the results speak for themselves.

Good to go?

Best,

Anthony

I don't like to write anything because I can never think of what to put on paper. Ask me questions and I will tell you what you want to know, but writing has never come easy for me.

Well done Dr Goodstone. I am encouraged to begin to write blogs.

I never thought of writing as something different from talking to someone. The beautiful thing about writing online is that you can talk to a lot of 'someones'. I can understand why it is freeing. Only a phd could come up with "freeing" and make it work. Mel Reed

I like to write, but then again I hate to write. It depends on what I'm writing and for what I'm writing it...anyone?

This is such a great blog. I love to hear how successful and/or happy people are who have an online/offline business! Keep up the great work.

William Clements

P.S. I also comment on all the blogs to compete for the $1,000 given away per week and would be great to win!
