I understand about building relationships and making friends, but I always introduce myself completely, so that at the end, the receiving party doesn't get hit with a surprise. In my opinion only, I would be more upset if someone was to communicate with me, and never mention what he/she were involved with, and then hit me with the big question after 6 months of back and forth emails.
We are all business people on here, and we are ALL into pushing something. I feel that being honest up front is a better way to do business rather than building a false relationship just to get something at the end.
I would love to hear what you think of all this, and once again, thank you for all your support and advice.

Are the majority of users of this site from the US? If so, it would make sense for me to promote my core business instead.
