No matter how small you business is, a good pre-employment screening program is a must. Do yo know what to look for when selecting a company to preform this vital task? Here are a few MUST to look for:
*MUST be able to certify that all of the information on the application has been verified including the name, date of birth, SSN, current and past employers, education institutions, and references.
*MUST be FCRA,DPPA, & HIPPA compliant and they must certify that the databases used to gather the criminal and civil information is compliant as well.
*MUST be willing to supply you with the compliant release forms for you and the applicant to sign.
*MUST do background checks on their employees.
*MUST have a turn around time that meets your needs.
*MUST be willing to go to the local court house or contact an out of town clerk of court to verify information if necessary.
*MUST have clear pricing and billing plan that suits your needs.
*MUST have a procedure in place for the destruction and/or proper storage of confidential material.
