About Us

Daddy's Home is especially designed for teenage fathers and fatherless males at-risk between the ages 10 and 17. Our curriculum is based on five key outcomes for youth that are vital for their transition to adulthood; Competence, Confidence, Connection, Character and Compassion.

We believe that services are critical interventions needed to enhance the essential well-being of the young person, and opportunities are the vehicles that offer youth meaningful and real ways to enhance their skills and competencies.

We target all the domains of responsible fathering that need remediation or enhancement: paternity, presence, economic support and involvement. We emphasize critical transition points for fathers and children. Pregnancy and childbirth clearly are crucial times in the development of a father's role, identity and for the mobilization of social support for fathering. Similarly, becoming a father as an adolescent is a critical life transition for the new father.

Father absence is the primary cause of both economic and social poverty. Virtually every major social pathology has been linked to father absence. Violent crime, drug and alcohol abuse, truancy, teenage pregnancy and suicide all correlate more strongly to fatherlessness than to any other single factor.

The vast majority of young people who become incarcerated for criminal activity have grown up without a father in the home. Father absence begins a cycle that leads to more father absence for future generations.

The vision of Daddy's Home is to strengthen and empower families, one father at a time. Daddy's Home will reinforce the values of fatherhood and provide effective services that will train, equip and guide the young fathers and those at-risk of becoming a teen father.

We endeavor to break the fatherless epidemic in Lucas County (Toledo, OH) and to become a model program throughout the United States that will assist in breaking the fatherless cycle that has plagued so many cities and communities. We will mend broken hearts and save the lives of many by teaching, nuturing and encouraging fathers to be involved and be responsible. We will champion the role of responsible fatherhood by inspiring and equipping men to be more engaged in the lives of children.

Fathers leave an indelible mark on their children and society. We must encourage, equip, and support dads as they become the true heroes of the coming generation.

John 5:19, "The Son can do nothing by himself, he can do only what he sees his Father doing, because whatever the Father does the Son also does."

Thanks Stephen for those great tips. Yes, the research is taking the longest, but I'm getting through it. I'm sure I will have further questions later on in my process.

It's funny you stated about the background checks, because on one of my other social networks I have a lady that specializes in background checks and we've been discusing the process, which is very interesting for the type of organization I will need it is very, very important.

Thanks again.
