Counting your 'successes'

As you may know, most of the listeners of On The HomeStretch are 35 and above... I on the other hand am 26!!! (and of course a very, very mature 26... hahaahaaaa! can't ya tell ;) This is an appeal to all you ladies who have been around the block a few more times than myself...... my life is going by TOO FAST! Each year, month and day flies by faster than the one before. I don't suppose this ever slows-- my guess is it only gets faster. We had an author On The HomeStretch a couple months ago that said something that really stood out. It was Jon Gordon, author of 'The Energy Bus' and 'The No Complaining Rule.' He talked about how each night when he tucks his little boy into bed they 'count their successes'!! A success could me anything, big or small, that made that day special. From being able to help a neighbor, a friend in need, having a good day at work, seeing a beautiful rainbow, a pretty bird, etc... I've been trying to do this in my own life-- If life is going to FLY BY no matter what, I'm thinking that at least now there will be something unique and special about each day for me to hold on to and appreciate. any thoughts???? !! :) Want to hear Jon Gordon's interview On The HomeStretch?? hear it here: segment 1, segment 2

Trash Can Turnmoil

A funny difference between Debbie and I....
She loves to take out the trash, I HATE it... Well maybe I don't 'hate' it... I just put it off as long as possible. The other day my tiny little desk garbage can was spilling over in abundance, but so help me i just could not bring my self to dump it. I came in the next day... it was emptied and I didn't do it..... I felt so guilty. When 'the boss' is emptying your trash you know something's wrong.
